When a bride orders her wedding flowers, it it may not occur to her that any “activities” will come from it other than as a thing for the bride to hold. But the bride’s bouquet can be the origin of many appealing ceremonies and thoughtful gestures.

If the bride elects not to have a unity candle, but wants some gesture like it, she can have her wedding bouquet styled by having several small bouquets put together. At an appropriate time during the celebrations, the wedding bouquet is “broken up” and various people might be given a portion, such as the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom.

So, if the bride wants to retain onto her bridal bouquet during the wedding ceremony, but is eager to have some fun with it at the celebrations, there are several options there as well. How about a dance associated with the bridal bouquet? This is a little silly, but good fun. The wedding bouquet is on display near the dance floor and the wedding guests must guess the name of a flower that’s part of the bouquet before they are allowed onto the dance floor. The first few guests might not have any problem as some flowers are very popular, such as roses and carnations, but others might give the wedding guests trouble. It will be obvious, this cannot work if the wedding bouquet is all one flower but for a traditional mixed bouquet, it can work well.

At that point in the reception when the bride is to throw her bouquet, there are some options. Some brides elect not to hold onto their bouquet and simply select a bloom out of it before slinging the whole arrangement during the tossing of the bridal bouquet ceremony bouquet set aside for throwing, and there are other choices of course.

Does the guest list include a lots of unmarried ladies coming to the wedding celebraions? It may be a single tossed bouquet will not be adequate. Many brides these days are choosing something different. There are several options, really.

A favored choice is to have the florist to design a few miniature bouquets and then bunch them to look like a single bouquet. They are tied lightly with a ribbon. When it is time for the ceremony of the tossing of the bouquet, the bride simply unties the ribbon, and lobs the “bouquet” which is actually a few miniature bouquets. This means a number of ladies will catch the bouquet, rather than just one.

Long before the big day the wedding emcee must discuss with the forthcoming bride exactly what ceremonies she would like to have in connection with the bridal bouquet. This has to be confirmed along with all the other duties the bridal couple want the wedding emcee to undertake at the festivities.

Then it’s time to plan and organize for the role of wedding emcee.
