Majorca has been attracting golfers from all over Europe since 1964 when the Son Vida Golf Club opened near to Palma. The greens are exquisite, the views spectacular and the weather glorious. Here is a quick guide to 4 of the best.

Santa Ponsa I Golf Course

The Santa Ponsa I was opened in 1977 and is the first in the Santa Ponsa trilogy. The Santa Ponsa resort also boasts the 18-hole Santa Ponsa II and the 9-hole Santa Ponsa III. Santa Ponsa I has since hosted many national and international tournaments over the years, including the PGA Tour Balearic Open. The course itself is fairly flat and is challenging to golfers of all levels. The spacious, tree-lined course is one of the longest in Europe, and obstacles include vegetation, water hazards and bunkers.
The resort also features a driving range, putting green, chipping area, pitching area, and a clubhouse with a bar and restaurant.

Capdepera Golf Course

Course length: 5839m
On the eastern side of the island, the Capdepera Golf Course features six lakes and wide, well-kept greens. Several holes have been redesigned since it opened in order to provide a bigger challenge. You’ll also find a driving range, practice area and restaurant there.

Canyamel Golf Course

Course length: 5841m
Palma, Mallorca’s capital, is the most popular of Majorca of resorts. 80km from Palma there are lines of palm and fig trees which mark out the fantastic Canyamel Golf Course. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range, two putting greens, a pitching green and a practice bunker.
Please note that a handicap certificate is required if you want to play during the winter months.

Alcanada Golf Course

Course length: 6000m
Alcanada is a relatively new course, completed in 2003 that provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities. Boasting four par 5s, eight par 4s and four par 3s, the course is situated in a beautiful area of Mallorca, and there are views of the island of Alcanada and the mountains of Sierra de Levante.
Please note that there is a handicap limit of 33 for men and 35 for women.
