Now that you finally have the little Pug that you have always wanted, you may be beginning to notice that he or she may be showing signs of having some Pug problem behaviors. While these may seem like a big deal, they are nothing that cannot be solved with a little love, attention, patience and proper training. Just like a child, the Pug is known to want to test the waters a little in order to see what he or she can and cannot get away with.

The best thing to do whenever you notice some of the basic problems that Pugs show is not to get angry. By getting angry you will install fear into your Pug and that is something that is not advisable, as this will only hurt the relationship between the two of you. You want your dog to respect you instead of fearing you and you will get much better results in all Pug training that you do.
When trying to make sure that your dog is given the very best that any Pug training can give, it is important to make sure that you remain in complete control over every situation that comes up. You must make sure that at all times you are the master over the dog and not the other way around. By allowing the Pug problem behaviors to take over your house, you are simply asking for trouble.

As soon as you see signs that your Pug is trying to test the waters of what he or she can get away with, make sure that you firmly give them a stern word of wording with the word no. You do not have to scream at the dog and you should never strike the animal, as that too will come back to haunt you, but you can deepen your voice to show a little authority.
Most people seem to think that a simple word of no will never get the point across and it will never get the animal to behave, but they are wrong. You have to remember, it is not what you are saying but how you are saying it. Your pup wants to make you happy and he or she did not know that their Pug problem behaviors were going to upset you so much. They just thought they had a chance to see what they are allowed to get away with.

So remember, just like children, you do not ever want to strike an animal because when you give violence, you teach violence and that can someday come back to bite you in the backside, literally. Therefore, just take the few moments needed to correctly scold your dog and before you know it, all of the Pug training will kick in and it will be like there was never a problem before.

Whenever you are trying to fix any Pug problem behaviors that are coming up, it is important to revert back to the basic Pug training that you began with. Even the best of the dog training books will tell you, Pug problem behaviors are just bound to happen and there is not anything that you can do to prevent it.
