Signs To Look For To Turn A Profit More Quickly

Profit is the prime reason why everyone is looking forward to join the business field. In order to make profits, even an inexperienced person is ready to invest his life savings into a concept. But when do you, as a franchisor, say that you have started making profits? Is it when you have opened a chain of franchisees and royalty cheques are coming in regularly? Or, is it when you have succeeded in selling a great number of franchised units? Here are some signs to know that you are turning in a profit more quickly.

• Steady Growth even after reaching a “plateau”: When you started the business and offered something new, many people jumped into the bandwagon because of the instant popularity. Your business climbed steadily, it reached a point where it started becoming slow and then went flat. This is called the plateau and every business experiences this situation at some point. But if you observe that your business graph is still going upwards after this brief plateau, then you can be assured that the initial hype is over and now the business is making profits solely because of its merits. Then it’s the right time to re-energize your business strategies and make your presence count in the market. That will help you to turn the profit even more quickly.
• Increasing Capital Base: You cannot be Scrooge McDuck and keep count of each and every penny you have earned! But a rough estimate of your base capital will make you aware whether you are profiting or not. Moreover, rising Capital Base will allow you to invest in new technologies and research works, which, in turn, will boost your profit margin considerably.
• Machineries working fine: When things are not going well, people cut down on machine maintenance. So, smoothly running machines are a sign that they are regularly maintained and cash flow in the business is adequate. Well-maintained machines also help in boosting up your production and profit-level.
• Employee/Franchisee morals: Just like the machines, the mood and morals of the employees/franchisees is another indication of how well things are going. If they are in high spirits, then you too have reasons to become happy and your business is bound to turn a profit quickly.
• Single-unit franchisees becoming multi-unit: Another sure-shot sign that your business is profitable is when single-unit franchisees open a second unit. Only when there’s enough profit and effective support system, a franchisee will be tempted to open another unit.
• New customers are coming in: When you see new names in the customers’ list along with the regular ones, you can come to the conclusion that you have arrived in the market. Then it’s the right time to go all out for an expansion to boost up the profit margin more.
• Your franchisees are ready to switch to new technologies: Implementing new technologies needs good amount of investment. That is why most franchisees shy away form upgrading their system/machines. But when they readily accept your proposal of improvement, you can understand they have enough capital in their hands that can only come if they are profiting! So, take it as a sign and do the needful upgrade to enhance your profitability.
