Stick To Designs That You Can Paint Quickly
If you take an age to face paint then the child will just become fed up and start fidgeting. It’s best to offer simple face painting designs that can be created quickly and easily.

Use Professional Face Paints
Yes, there are less expensive face paints but the professional ones are much easier to work with. They apply with ease, give superior coverage and the colors are more vibrant. They make your creations more interesting and they feel much more pleasant for the wearer.

Practice Using an Acetate Sheet
When you are just starting out with face painting, it’s not always practical to do all your training practice on kids. So a really good tip is to practice on acetate sheets. They are easy to get from any stationer. No need for kids to get bored and be all fidgety when you are learning. And they’re cheap. When you’ve finished, just wipe the sheet clean and have another go.

Stensils Speed Up Face Painting
When you are new to face painting, making stensils will allow you to tackle more ambitious designs and speed up the process. They are easy to make yourself. Find photographs of designs you want to tackle. Scale them up for size using a photocopier or graphics software. Trace the picture onto the acetate sheet. Cut out the lines using a craft knife. Remove any rough edges. Wash the acetate and your stensil is ready for painting.
