Every year, generally in the spring, girls in their teenage years are thinking about, making plans for, dreaming of, and with much excitement looking forward to the school ’s biggest social event… the prom. Most schools limit this social event to only the upper classes, most often juniors and seniors, and this makes the prom even more special.
On such a magical evening, special attention is needed to prepare. Both males and females will spend a great deal of time and money to make this night as special as possible. Girls will spend a lot of time picking out the perfect prom dress, looking for the perfect styles and colors. Usually girls will use their closest friends to help them through this process. Boys will spend extra time, with the help of his prom date, to pick out the perfect tux to coordinate with his date’s dress.
Boys and girls will spend countless hours worrying over their prom dresses and tuxedos, but girls have an additional problem boys generally don’t: what to do with their hair. So thousands of girls will visit salons, surf the internet, and look through magazines to determine which of the many prom hair styles they would prefer for that special night.
Its a challenge finding prom hair ideas that is not only perfect for you, but one that no one else will be wearing on the big night.
Although you will see a wide variety of hairstyles at proms, prom updos will be the most popular style chosen by prom girls. This doesn’t mean that you will see all of the girls with the same hairstyle though. Prom updos come in all different shapes and sizes and many girls will compliment their prom dresses by wearing jewels, ribbons and even flowers in their hair.
A very popular style for the prom updos is to pull the hair up and add curls. Often this style has strands left around the girls face to soften her look. Other prom updos have a tight bun worn on the back of the head. Sometimes the hair is braided and wrapped around the bun. This style can also have some loose strands of curled hair around the face. In both styles it is often to wear a tiara or small amounts of baby’s breath tucked into the hair.
When a girl has checked out all the types of prom updos that are available she will then usually visit a salon for a practice of the style that she has chosen. This is a wonderful idea since this gives both the girl and the stylist the chance to try the style and make any adjustments needed before the big night. This will make sure that her hair style will turn out perfect for her on prom night.
