Headboards are the main point of any bedroom. They show your taste and personality. There are many of designs and materials on the market today, but the most traditional of them all are the oak headboards. They look sophisticated and rich. The problem with them is that they can be quite expensive and not everyone can afford to use expensive headboards.
If you are decorating your child’s room, particularly beds and headboards, you probably do not want to spend as much on the decorating as kids grow up very quickly and their likings and tastes change just as fast. In such cases spending heavily on childrens bedroom decor is pretty much pointless.
Because of this, it’s best to use inexpensive headboards for your kids room. They can be replaced when the times call for it, and you will not have invested much. You can use window coverings and shutters, fabrics, old clothes, spare plywood, stencils, even photo frames. A little bit of paint and tools and you are set to go.
What you need to do is come up with something creative to make a fashionable headboard. You can also make bookcase headboards which are not only inexpensive but at the same time functional. Or you can put window shutters behind the bed and paint them. You can also leave them unpainted to give an old fashioned country feel or look.

With a tiny bit of imagination and skill (and of course effort), you can create beautiful and inexpensive headboards for your kid’s room or maybe even your master bedroom.
