I was at the AVP Crocs beach vollyball on manhattan beach a few weeks back and saw these new quad skates called SKORPIES.

In between matches team Skorpion took the stage and introduced the crowd to Skorpion Skates and specifically their new kids’ skate called SKORPIES, cue michael jackson music enter cute blondie on pink skates, do a little roller dance routine.

Having my own cute little blondie who loves pink i went straight to the Skorpion stand to have a look. The girl must have been about only 7 yrs old but looked really comfortable and stable on stage and dancing. Down on the stand I chatted with the guys, one of which was the owner and designer all the way from New Zealand. Their instructor Richard took me for a skate on the adult Quadline model to show me just how stable they actually are. Well I have never really skated much but in only 10 minutes with Richard I was all good. Thank you Richard!! The Skorpion Quadline skates are like a super funky updated version of the retro roller skates; you wear your own shoes and buckle yourself to the footplate with easy to use ratchet bindings, like ski bindings if you’ve ever done that.

The SKORPIES footplate can adjust to to multiple sizes which is great for parents so our kids can grow with you rather than have to keep buying new ones, they even have their own version of the retro wing nut on the underside for the adjustment. Being the dream that I am I ended up buying a pair for my girl and a pair for myself both in Pink. My girl took to her SKORPIES like ducks to water, now we make time to go out skating together, it’s great to get out of the house and do something really fun together.

Roll-on the holidays so that we can get out every day.
