Television shows like Sex and the City have brought female masturbation into pop culture, but real women haven't quite caught on. University of Indiana researchers found that around twenty percent of women have masturbated in the last month, and forty percent within the past year. Conversely, anywhere from twenty seven to sixty eight percent of males reported masturbating within the last month, varying by age.
Contrary to stereotypes, females are just as men - they're just not encouraged to play with their bodies the same way males are. How many films joke about teenage boys masturbating? (American Pie was even named after that special scene!) Growing up, I didn't even know other girls practiced masturbation, but I sure knew guys did! (1) Female masturbation helps females orgasm. In a survey Dorian Solot and Marshall Miller, eighty eight percent of females who masturbated had orgasms compared to only 48% of females who did not masturbate.
In the same survey, they found its easier for women to orgasm by masturbating more than any other way - including intercourse, oral sex, and fingering. Sex is more than just orgasm, of course, and its possible to amazing sex without it. But still, orgasms are fun, and one of the most pleasurable physical feelings we can feel. (2) If you're in a relationship, you'll have you'll enjoy yourself more with them too them. If you can't get yourself off, don't expect that anyone else will. Romantic movies aside, males don't always know how to pleasure a woman. Communication is necessary for good sex, and to communicate you must have something to say!
Some men and women think masturbation is only for single people, or that its an insult to their partner. On the contrary!
