There are many brides-to-be planning their weddings out there, and there are even more wedding dresses for those brides to be tempted by. From intricate designs with beautiful embellishments to simple wedding dresses, each bride is sure to find a wedding gown she’ll love. It’s just a matter of knowing what you want and need from your gown. Obviously you want it to be stunning and to make you look your best, you want to feel special in it and be picture perfect, quite literally, but there is more to the right wedding dress than that.
In general you can divide wedding gowns into two basic categories, intricate and simple wedding dresses. Intricate ones will have more complicated designs, more embellishments, will possibly mix different textures and fabrics to create a more dramatic effect, while simple wedding dresses are just that, simple, with little decoration, mostly simple lines and delicate fabrics that don’t require any effort putting on or figuring out. But like with everything, whichever choice you make, there will be some pros and cons.
If you lean towards intricate wedding dresses, you can be sure you’ll be making a bold fashion statement. People will remember your dress as it will stand out wit it’s cut, fabric and detailing. The structure will look great in photographs and make for a unique walk down the aisle, but chances are it won’t be the easiest dress to handle. Te more intricate the design, the more restrictive a dress may be, the corset enclosing you tightly or the very narrow skirt allowing only for the smallest steps. Rouching, puffy skirt, tight sleeves, added on beads, flowers or ribbons look beautiful but can easily get in the way of you moving comfortably, eating or just resting.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking at simple wedding dresses, you can be pretty sure you’ll have no problems with comfort as they are typically a looser, more casual fit. You’ll be able to dance, sit and walk without having to worry that your dress will end up in your plate or feeling that the corset is constricting tighter and tighter around you. On the other hand simple wedding dresses are simple, they rarely stand out among other wedding dresses, they don’t have many memorable details, making them somewhat plain. They’re still wedding dresses, though, and they are beautiful, you just may want to dress one of tem up a bit should you want to make a statement. Fortunately the simpler the dress the easier it is to add accessories that will dress it up, taking us back to the positive aspects of simple wedding dresses.
Intricate or simple, your wedding dress is likely to be the most important dress you’ll ever wear. And that means that above all you have to love it. Don’t worry about expectations, don’t care about fitting into the fashion trends, and simply follow your instinct when choosing your wedding dress. If you do that, you’re guaranteed to find a comfortable yet intricate gown or to still be memorable in the simplest wedding dress out there, because you’ll exude confidence as well as pure bridal beauty.
