The source of photography is the camera. Most of the outputs of photography depend upon the technicalities of the camera but at the same time they also depend on the way the camera is handled by the photographer.
There is a lot of difference between the camera and the eye. The camera is nonliving by the eyes are living. Again there is a lot of difference between just a photo and a lively photo. When one sees a lively photo he/she finds the images in the photo going lively. On the other hand when one see just a photo he/she does not find it lively.
Some of the steps to enhance your photography skills are as follows.
• Competition:
There are some websites where competition of photographs is conducted. Take the competition positively and as a motivation to improve upon your current skills. Submit your photos regularly to these sites and also compare yours with that of others. This will motivate you to improve upon your current photography skills.
• Stability:
When the camera is mounted on the tripod it gives additional stability to the process of photography. On the other hand if you think that your hands can provide the kind of stability that is offered by the tripod you are wrong because the hands have some vibrations even when you think that they are stable.
• Timing:
The photographer should treat the camera as a third eye and should take it wherever he/she goes. No one knows where and when you could come across a scene that should be captured in your camera.
• Memory:
There is a big difference between the memory devices and the memory of the brain. One can store the photos in the memory of the devices. Storing a picture in the brain is quite different from this because there are emotions and sentiments attached to it. The photograph should be such that whoever sees it should feel that its elements are as lively as alive and the viewer should feel sentimental and emotional about it.
• Miniature Cameras:
Small is beautiful. That is what many people think. The novice photographers usually think the same but this is not the case with the professional photographers. Most of the miniature cameras lack the lens required for good photography. For good photography the camera should have 10mm to 24mm lens. The wide-angle and high-definition make a big difference between the miniature cameras and professional cameras.
• HDR and Self examination:
Taking a photo in high dynamic range (HDR) can be very attractive but sometimes overdoing the photo with this technology can make the photo look weird or horrifying. Besides the technology the photographer needs to self examine his/her actions. The photographer’s self examination of the photos with a neutral perception is the key to improving upon one’s photography skills.
Sometimes drawing and making mistakes deliberately can make the photo amazingly unique and attractive.
