Originally, AT&T is the abbreviation of American Telephone & Telegraph. It is fully deserve the name of the America's largest local and long distance telephone company.

AT & T is formerly known by the telephone inventor Bell in 1877 to create the American Bell Telephone Company and its disintegration began in 1984. In the U.S. government's antitrust enforcement policy intervention, the company's local telephone business was split off, and then re-established seven subsidiaries, they are: Pacific Bell, Ameritech Corporation, Southwestern Bell, Bell company U.S. West, Bell Atlantic, BellSouth and the Nynex Corporation. On October 25, 2000, AT & T announced within the next two years' plan-it would be divided into four restructuring. According to it's business, the establishment of four new companies are AT & T Business Services, AT & T Consumer Services, AT & T Wireless Services Inc. and operate cable television service and Internet access services, AT & T Broadband.
In July 2010, AT & T ranked No. 21 on the 'Forbes' magazine's top 500 enterprises the turnover due to the 123,018 million, and net profit of 12,535 million U.S. Dollars.
