Christian recording artist Michael J. Harris has been caught in a tawdry sex scandal where he has been accused of carrying on a year long affair with a married woman.
Although the details of his sexual encounters are slowly being leaked to the public, so far Mr. Harris failed to deny accusations that he has once again been unfaithful to his wife, Amber Harris.
Struck By Tragedy
The lives of Michael and Amber Harris were dramatically changed more than 15 years ago when they were involved in a horrific automobile accident while in route to Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael has publicly admitted that he fell asleep at the wheel of their car while in a drug and alcohol induced stupor. The result of the accident left his wife Amber paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of her life.
Subsequently, Michael went on a drinking and drug abuse binge that drove his wife Amber to leave him and return to her family in Fiji. After some months of hitting rock bottom Michael claimed to have found Jesus Christ and reconciled with his wife.
From that point forward he began a Christian singing ministry that carried the two of them to Seventh-day Adventist churches throughout the United States. Harris has also sung to capacity crowds for a number of international SDA church congregations.
Once A Cheater . . .
However, it appears his conversion to Adventism didn’t last. It was recently disclosed by Internet video blogger Kage Adams that Michael Harris began a secret flirtation with the wife of a married man that lasted several years until it turned sexual in 2009.
Once the heat was turned up, Harris and his love interest would meet in his hotel to have sex when he was in town for gospel concerts. On one occasion he even booked a room at the Palm Springs California Marriott for a weekend sex romp in October 2009.
Harris was so brazen that a couple of months later he spent the Christmas holiday in the home of the couple with whom he was secretly having sex with the man’s wife!
Even more sexual encounters took place in 2010 with his unnamed lover. In all it’s believed Harris had sexual liaisons with this married woman on a number different occasions in at least two states.
Set Free With A Vengeance
Michael Harris wrote in his book, “Set Free” that he had given up drinking, abusing drugs, and sexually cheating on his wife Amber to dedicate his life to the Lord. Apparently, he’s reneged on that promise and once again betrayed his wife, family, and friends.
Harris’s adulterous relationship reportedly went on from the summer of 2009 to the end of 2010 when the married woman broke off the affair. It seems that Harris has been “set free” once again to wreck havoc on the lives of others.
At the time this article was written, there has been no sign of remorse by Mr. Harris or any attempt to make amends with the offended husband. It’s unknown how Amber Harris has reacted to the news.
Are Christian Conversions Real?
Michael Harris ministered to thousands of Christian believers with his message of redemption. Little did his concert goers know that when the church lights were turned out, he was off for a bit of hanky panky in his hotel room.
One doesn’t have to wonder how the good people who gave Harris donations during his performances feel after learning about his infidelity. Interviews with people who purchased his book and CDs in church lobbies after a concert have expressed shock, disbelief, and disappointment.
Does Michael J. Harris appear to be the kind of Christian whose books and CDs you want to buy and hold up as examples of Christian values?
As detailed in his book, his abuse of drugs and alcohol caused him to cripple his wife in a horrific automobile accident. What he doesn’t tell you in the book is that he resumed his sinful ways by having sex with at least one married woman. A woman to whom he repeatedly professed his love while his own wife, Amber, sat helplessly at home in a wheelchair.
More Lives In Shambles
The marriage of his adulterous lover and her husband has reportedly been irreparably damaged. So far, Amber Harris has been silent on the disclosure of her husband’s latest round of infidelity.
As for Michael Harris himself? One can only wonder how a man like that manages to sleep at night.
