The single life was a golden era to many spouses. The relationships and sex were the stuff of legend. They enjoyed the time but decided to give it all up because they wanted to marry that special someone that came into their lives.
Others may not have had it like that when they were single. Now that they are married to still daydream on what might have been. No matter which group a cheating spouse falls into there is one thing they both have in common. They want more.
It is estimated that in fifty percent of all marriages somewhere down the line one of the spouses will have an affair. Why they cheat on their significant other varies from one individual to the next but you can be sure that for many it is the fact that they think of themselves consciously or not as players.
For some it is nothing more than ego. They are married but they have to assure themselves that they still have what it takes to pull someone of the opposite sex. Sure their significant other tells them on a regular basis that they are all that and a bag of pretzels. But it's not enough. The only way to prove it to themselves is to explore and conquer new territories.
Then there is the fear of losing what they once had. No matter what their spouse says they have to find out from other sources if the magic is still there. Once they do you would think that would satisfy them right? Wrong after having one extramarital affair the cycle of fear starts all over again.
The other fear is that since they did not get their fill during the single years they are scared all that "talent" will go to waste so it becomes important to them to make up for lost time.
Another one is their marriage was nothing more than a smoke screen. They have love for their spouse but never had any intention of giving up the game. Marriage gave them the stability and home life they were looking for. As far as they are concerned it's the single life with better benefits.
