By: Kate Smith

The dream of Cyprus in a villa can become a reality for many people whether for a holiday home or relocation. Cyprus road maps help to see the island has five districts; Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Famagusta. Each area has its own distinct character, landscape and attractions.

In the far west of the island are the beautiful small towns of Polis and Latchi. Around them you will find genuine Cyprus in the traditional villages and beautiful areas around the Akamas Peninsular. Cyprus road maps will help you locate Cyprus property for sale in the out of the way places which will offer peace and tranquillity especially to those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, hiking and bird watching.

Also in the district of Paphos, Cyprus in villa can be found in the holiday centre of the town itself, Kato Paphos is the main tourist area and Cyprus road maps also show the popular areas of Coral Bay and Peyia. These are great places for holiday homes and can be rented out to when not in use by their owners. Paphos is a year round resort, but is quieter in the winter months.

Further along the coast to the East is the cosmopolitan town of Limassol. Cyprus property for sale here is found in the town itself which has over 15 km of coastline, where all water sports can be found. The Troodos Mountains dominate behind the town, through the foothills and pass by the vineyards and sleepy villages to find tiny white churches and remote monasteries and shady cool forests.

Larnaca is a working town of some 75,000 residents, there are mainly agricultural areas and you will find there is a great balance of locals and ex-pats living together in harmony. The outlying villages with Oroklini, Pyla and Pervolia are very popular and the proposed golf course in Tersefanou has made that village a property hotspot.

Nicosia has a niche market as the capital of the island, as it is land locked in the centre it does become at least 5 degrees hotter than the coastal regions in the summer. Here is where the main administrative institutions are and there is great shopping.

The Famagusta area is very flat and is where the holiday destinations of Protaras and Ayia Napa are located. Cyprus in a villa will be busy in summer season but very quiet in the winters where all the attractions and many of the facilities close. The location has great sea views, beaches and rocky coves.

This is a brief overview of the various locations of Cyprus in a villa and Cyprus property for sale can be found in the urban metropolis of Nicosia or at the top of a mountain in the Troodos, all on the diverse and tiny island, do come and see for yourself.
