More Than Fifty Years Of Adventure With Jeep History

Who has not heard the word Jeep? It is a word related to not just the thrill of adventurous rides but also riding on a vehicle that is considered one of the best. This brand name is also known by other names such as the Rubicon, Wrangler, Cherokee, Wagoneer and others.

If you’re going to jog through memory lane, you will know that Jeep has been through plenty of wars. At first, the vehicle was utilized by the Armed Forces during the 2nd World War and after the war was over, what was left of the vehicles in the Philippines were converted into public utility vehicle which they now term, “jeepney”.

Fast forward to the fifties, the Jeep Jambories was launched into the market, thanks to a group of people who wanted to show the rest of the world what an amazing vehicle it was, even outside of war torn areas. This time, there was engineering innovation that helped release seven models that were the beginning of a beautiful friendship between the company and the drivers.

By the 1960’s, Jeep became synonymous with a variety of driving experiences, from fun and games to purely utility. Around this time, there was already more innovation that helped the release of an additional fourteen models. Soon, no one who had no Jeep needed one in their driveways, no matter the reason for its use.

The Cherokee was launched in the 1970’s and it has left such an impact that way into the second decade of the 21st century, people still think of the Cherokee as the ultimate of Jeep designs. Around this time, the brand was already popular all throughout the world and it became much more celebrated due to its several awards for the efficiency of its models. At this time, there six models of Cherokee that were launched plus they created waves across the world.

By 1980’s the Cherokee models which were released proved to be even better than the ones previously released. This is the decade when the Cherokee XJ revolutionized the four-by-four market by introducing a series of “firsts” such as compact four-door SUV, the construction of the first UniFrame, the first full four-by-four system that came with the shift-on-the-fly.

By 1990’s, it was already undeniable that Cherokee ZJ dominated industry when it pertains to on and off road functions. There was also the release of Wrangler TJ that comes with a revolutionary coil suspension and Grand Cherokee WJ which also dominated the SUV industry.

At present, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is seen as an iconic vehicle. It is considered to be one of the best among all the jeeps released in Jeep History and it has taken motorists by storm. There is also the smaller version of this jeep, the Compass and Patriot.

Jeep history is part of the American tradition. In the United States, Jeep remain one of the more popular vehicles and there are a large number of manufacturers and retailers of Jeep accessories.
