A Sugar Glider - The Cutest Pet Possible
By: Derrick Anderson

Do you want to give your sibling or friend something really special on his or her birthday? Well, if you do then you can give a lovely pet. It will be a special gift and your friend will absolutely love it. And when it comes to choosing an amazingly cute pet for your brother or sister you can give a sugar glider. Sugar gliders are beautiful and tiny gliding animal and are marsupials that belong to the family of koalas and kangaroos. These cute marsupials have been given the name sugar gliders since they love all things sweet. Now, since you have decided to gift a sugar glider as a gift you need to know about the different types of sugar gliders that you can choose from.

White Tipped Sugar Glider

The white tipped sugar gliders’ tail has a small white tip at its fag end. The size of the tip can range from 2 inches to a few strands of hair. The parents of most of this type of sugar gliders are usually sugar gliders in normal color.

White Faced Blonde Sugar Gliders

The white faced blonde sugar glider is called so because it does not have bars right beneath its ears. Other types of sugar gliders possess these bars. The white faced blonde sugar glider is mutated and this result in the absence of the bars. The term ‘blonde’ is added to its name because it has fur which has shades of light blonde in its color with cream or golden highlights.

Black Beauty Sugar Glider

Though the black beauty sugar gliders mostly have the normal coloring; black, gray or white, the difference is that the black is pitch black. Most black beauties have a dark patch of hair that running from their one ear to the other ear.

Ringtail Mosaic Sugar Gliders

The other name of mosaic sugar gliders is ringtail mosaic sugar gliders. The ringtail mosaic sugar gliders have small rounded white marks on their tail, body and feet. They get the name from the ringtail pattern present on their tails. The ringtail mosaic sugar gliders usually come in many colors. While some of them have white faces others have platinum furs.

Albino Sugar Glider

The albino sugar gliders are quite different types of sugar gliders. Instead of the black stripes that others have, the albino ones have white, pure fur with beautiful red eyes. However, a few albino sugar gliders have light cream fur. The albino sugar gliders have an incomplete dominant gene and this gene is used to breed albino sugar gliders. Some albino sugar gliders are very rare. Some sugar gliders have beautiful pink eyes.

Classic Grey Sugar Glider

The classic grey sugar glider is the most common type of glider found and most people keep this type as pets. The coat of these gliders is grey, having a pronounced black stripe running along their backs through the middle. They even have small black marks all over their bodies. The bellies of the classic grey sugar gliders are cream or light grey in color. They have black bars behind their ears as well as black marks on their ears and the tail tips.
