Two Types Of Membership Sites
By: Peter Griffiths

Membership websites have 2 types.

Paid sites and free sites. These membership websites have one thing in common. Their memberships are consist of individuals who share a similar interest or have a common need.

You can still get a domain, put up a site and select who to admit or not, despite not paying for a membership. The proceeds will eventually be coming from sales to members after they have joined. There are free network sites that might be used for your purpose. MSN and Yahoo groups are two examples of membership websites that are offered for free. There is no charge at all for anyone to join and it costs nothing to build these websites. There are no paid administrators or moderators required for these types of websites.

On each site, there are rules on how to join and the code of conduct for that particular website. The site topics are numerous and diverse. Support websites are also made available for those who have grieved the loss of loved ones and for those who have problems with health and other concerns. Sites for those individuals who are into crafts like woodworking and quilting are also presented.

For those who are passionate about traveling, there are also websites available for them.
Whatever age group you belong there is a website that suits your preference and style.
For each member, there is an available chat software and a space assigned for documents, links and for posting pictures. The free websites do not have such things as access to specialized information like music lessons as well as lists.

On the other hand, paid for membership sites are set up by people or companies to make money by supplying information and access to a number of fields of instructions, specialized data or lists. Membership sites are owned and operated by individuals who either own the sites or who are hired by the website owners to supervise and manage them. The subjects are wider and even more varied and undoubtedly more specialized than those from free membership websites.
