The American communications Network or ACN has been getting quite allot of attention lately, it's possible this is due to the after effects of the global financial crisis that has been making many people to change the way they think of "a secure career" and look to home based business as a solution.Also ACN received a big promotion score through mananging to get Donald Trump to endorse them (I wonder, will Trump contine endorsing ACN now he has the Trump Network?)
However reguardless of any publicity received, the question to ask is"Should I join ACN?"
Let's explore the facts in more detail.
Products -
ACN is a phone/communication company, so you will be promoting various phone and internet contracts especially long distance service. They offer a wide range of packages including long distance, local, internet, video phone
Company history -
ACN began life in 1993, started by Robert Stevanovski, Gref Provenzano, Tony Cupisz, and Mike Cupisz. Since 1993 ACN have grown strongly, with business in twenty countries and with a claimed yearly revenue of five hundred million(so far so good)
Compensation -
Hmm... I tried to get my head around how the pay plan works, I stopped trying when my head started hurting, honestly.... (Have a look on the ACN website if you really want to crack the code)
Good sides -
Great corporate leadership and company history, an amazingly large number of new network marketing companies fail during their early years in operation. So far ACN looks good.
Down sides -
Other than the business opportunity, I'm not seeing a huge incentive to buy the services they offer. As far as I can tell they lack a unique selling point in a very competitive market. Plus there seems to be little incentive for finding customers as compared to new business builders, this in turn causes a range of issues that I will go into in more detail in another article. (It's a common thing in MLM)
Conclusion -
To conclude no ACN isn't a scam, it is a legitimate business model that many different people have had a lot of success through.
What you really have to keep in mind when looking into ACN or any other home business is that the ultimate factor that will decide you success is you, and how effectively you promote, market, and sell yourself. It's all about being a leader, as is learning effective marketing systems. The "talking to family and friends" just isn't good enough on it's own anymore.
If your upline is trying to tell you that all it takes to build a successful and profitble busines is talk to half a dozen people, GET OUT OF THERE.
You're going to need a solid marketing strategy in place just like in any other business.
If you have skills at running home meeting, doing the referrals thing, setting up hotel events etc, then its possible that traditional mlm strategies will work for you.
If you're like me and would rather work smarter than harder, then you need to be learning how to harness the internet to market in conjunction with traditional mlm approaches, this is an essential skill set to have in any mlm business, if it's ACN or anything else.
Leveraging the online world to bring in leads, and turn those leads into customers and distributors isn't as difficult as you might think. You don't even need to be a nerd to do it :D.
