In kindergarten, we often see that children would pool their efforts together to put toys away after childcare service teachers give them order or just a piece of music. However, many parents complain that it is not the case at home. Kids at home hardly put away toys together and always can’t find where their toys are when they want to play with for the next time. What’s more, they sometimes destroy the new toys which are just bought a few days ago. All these bad performances show that children don’t develop the good habits of playing with toys. What you have to pay attention is that not to neglect such bad habits because they would have bad influence on children’s personality and moral character for a long period. For example, children would form bad habits such as loving ease and hating work, have no sense of responsibility if they are not willing to put toys away. Children who always destroy toys would form wasteful habits and don’t cherish the fruit of labor made by other people. All in all, for a long time, it would change simple behaviors to morality.
As you known, good habits are not innate, but formed through all kinds of good behaviors. How to cultivate the good habit of playing with toys? Several suggests showed in following article.
Firstly, parents should teach kids how to play with toys. For example, all toys should be put gently and not to throw them away random. They are should be put together and return to the previous position after finishing the playing. Parents should make children know why it is necessary to do this, the benefit of doing such behaviors and some punishment would get if not doing such process. Finally, children would know that it is not easy to get all these toys and they should put them away after finishing play.
Secondly, parents should teach children how to tidy toys and how to classify toys. In many cases, kids don’t know how to do this and they always give up during the process of tidying. Therefore, when giving toys for children to play, parents should teach them how to restore to the correct location so that it is easy to get in the next time. If necessary, parents can provide appropriate help for them.
Finally, what I want to emphasize is that parents should set themselves an example to their kids and I believe kids would form good habits of playing toys with these tips.
