As a job searcher, you know that the job interview is inescapable. It is an important part of a hiring process that causes either frustration or satisfaction. The terrific thing about the job interview is that you can manipulate your job interview. In fact, you can manipulate its outcome the way you want, all it needs is a little preparation and practice.
A job interview consists of two components: the interview questions and responses. Job interview questions are not asked for the sake of asking or because it is a tradition. An interview is far different from normal conversation and interview questions have hidden intention. You are asked because the interviewer wants to study you, and in order for the interviewer to analyze you, he or she will need your job interview answer. This means that you hold the power to mold the outcome by replying with a killer response.
How long have you been in a job hunt is one of the questions that are asked in an interview especially if you have . These days it is almost natural to be unemployed for at least 6 months due to the economic crisis. However, a hiring manager may opine differently about this. In an employer’s mind, you may have unsuitable qualities that deter other employers to take you.
A killer answer does not employ economic or financial reasons. Honestly, it is relatively smarter not to blame the economy due to the lengthy job hunt. In addition, never mention that you went through different job interviews but you did not get a job due to tight competition, it will only make things harder for you. Frankly, the interviewer will only perceive you as less qualified to the other companies that you had applied.
Instead, take the chance to highlight your skills and your good characteristics. For instance, while you were jobless, let say you went to different trainings and develop new skills and experience. You could say that during that time you were meditating about your life, what kind of career you really want to engage or what will be your future plan? In short, turn negativity into positive.
Some interview questions like why did you apply for this company or this position are often discouraging to many job seekers. Oftentimes, job seekers apply for a job due to attractive salary and benefit coverage. However, let’s face it not all of us are brave enough to say that the salary is very attractive. And also, this kind of answer will not get you further. Basically, the purpose of this question is to verify if you are really interested to the company or the job.
One main factor that affects the decision of an employer to employ an applicant is his or her interest in the job.. A killer job interview answer usually emphasizes your interest as much as possible. However, for you to answer effectively you need to do as much research as possible. This way you can tailor your answer based on the job description and the company’s information.
