Creative And Fun Jewelry Storage Ideas
By: Clerisa Gomes

Your teen can avoid tangled and knotted necklace chains and bracelets by getting a practical storage solution. Fine jewelry like diamonds, pearls and gold need extra special care as does protecting metallic jewelry from getting tarnished. Also, if your daughter is living in a cramped dorm room where space-saving dorm furniture is a must, you need compact storage. Think of the kind of jewelry your teen wears and decide how it can best be stored. Take a look at some of these creative ideas for jewelry storage that are functional and decorative.

Storing Rings
Rings are small and storing them in pouches would make it difficult to sort out the rings. Your teen can store rings in a number of creative ways and one such way is to keep them in jewelry storage trays. These trays are easily available and have a soft cushiony material, usually velvet, at the base with separate slots for each ring. Another great way to store rings is to convert ice cube trays into ring trays. Just add decorative elements or paint the tray to match your teen’s room décor and there you have an attractive-looking ring tray!

Storing Bracelets and Bangles
Since bracelets can get tangled easily, they need to be stored properly. Choose a compartmentalized tray or you could also go for a simple wooden box. The possibilities of decorating the simple wooden box are endless so ask your daughter to come up with creative ways to embellish the box!

For bangles, go for a bangle rack or a box that can fit all your teen’s bangles in a systematic manner. Another great way of storing all your teen’s bangles is by stacking them on poles. Your teen can make a simple bangle stacker by using an empty paper towel roll, wrapped in gift-wrapping paper and attached to a cardboard base so it stands better. This is also an effective way for saving space in a place with limited dorm furniture.

Storing Earrings
Earrings are delicate and need to be stored appropriately. While jewelry trays are easily available, your teen could decorate an ordinary-looking box according to her tastes. You could also make a jewelry pouch and personalize it with her name embroidered across it. A fabric-covered foam board would also be a great way to keep track of earring pairs. Jewelry frames consist of fabric mounted on an ornate frame; the earrings can be simply poked through the fabric to make a colorful display.
