Sometimes the best places that you stumble into are the ones that you had no intentions of stepping foot in. For example, when you are out on a walk or perusing the mall you may see or smell something that grabs your attention and you just have to follow the trail. So what attracts you into a store? Is it the display in the window, the aroma, the guy out front waving a sign around, or just plain curiosity?
I’m a sucker for all things that have a wonderful smell. I remember walking by a storefront once where it was quite clear of their advertising method. This was a fudge factory where there was no obstructing view to the inside and you could plainly see them making the fudge itself. Of course the windows were open so you could smell the aroma from a mile away. Flocks of people were piling in left and right including yours truly. Needless to say, I did not leave there empty handed and it is now one of my favorite places to frequent.
Flower shops are poignant in my mind when I think of places that I can’t resist. There is something so pure and fresh about walking past Glendale Flowers on an early morning when they have their door ajar. Who doesn’t like the scent of flowers, I mean really? The smell of Roses, Tulips, Orchids, and Carnations is enough to keep you coming back for more. And I’m sorry, as much as I love my candles, they will never compare to the real thing!
Let’s admit it, many of us are bargain shoppers, and with every right to be. It’s hard to resist a place that has ridiculously huge signs out front stating that “Everything Must Go” or “Everything 50% Off”. It doesn’t hurt to check these places out especially around the holiday season. You could get all your shopping done for this year and next year without even having intended to do so. You might want to check with your partner first before going haywire and buying out the whole store!
Architecture is something that has always interested me so when I see an eye catching building, chances are I will go check out the inside as well. You just never know what neat things you may see or what innovative ideas you could create in seeing something at its grandeur.
So the next time you are out and about take the opportunity to stop and smell the Roses, eat some fudge, or just simply stumble into the unknown. Chances are, it will become a fun habit for you to partake in.
