How To Get The Best From Your Garden
By: Stephen Drummonsy

A garden is a charming addition to any yard. Sensitively planned, a garden could enrich the look of any house and help raise its worth should an owner choose to sell. A garden can be as big or tiny as an owner desires and can be filled with flowers, vegetables or both. To make a garden as functional and striking as possible, there is planning involved that encompasses the layout of the area chosen for the garden and the maintenance involved to keep it in good physical shape and looking great.

In a good number of cases, a garden should be in a location that gets loads of sunlight. That area should be marked off and cleared of all rubbish like stones, leaves, twigs, branches, etc. Leaves can be set aside and used for compost once the garden soil has been tilled and is ready for planting. Garden clearance entails gathering all debris, setting it aside and disposing of all debris that can't be recycled.

Clearing a large garden area will often necessitate additional help, and if there's room in the funds for a professional gardener, he or she will get the job done rapidly using professional tools like a lawn sweeper. If garden care isn't in the funds, use a wide rake and ask over family and acquaintances to help out.

Leaf blowers work well on sites that contain a lot of leaves. Blow the leaves to one corner of the garden and put aside for later use. Rakes can be metal or plastic and should be wide enough to cover sizeable areas with each sweep. Leaf shredders can be rented and are good for shredding leaves that can be later mixed with garden soil and used as a compost. Any remaining leaves and debris should be placed in garden bags for taking away. Industrial wet vacs work well to remove wet leaves that may stay put after raking is complete.

Any overgrown bushes, hedges and trees that are part of the garden landscaping should be trimmed or removed. This will ensure that the garden will be given the necessary sunlight it needs and give a neat and completed look to the whole yard.

Once a garden is planted and begins to blossom it will look even nicer. Garden clearance is a chore that should be done on a daily basis. Making sure the garden is watered well and free of weeds guarantees a garden that will be overflowing with healthy, hearty and beautiful plants and vegetables.

My garden is a passion of mine. I just like to walk around the garden and lose myself in amongst the flowers and the vedgatables. My garden has not always been as nice as it is right now, in fact without the help of a gardening companies help and advise it would still look a tidy mess as I used to call it. I always search on the internet using the term - gardener london. This always gets me in touch with the best people for the job.
