New Designs In Medical Uniforms
By: John Petersons

I think medical field is one such field which insists on medical uniform for almost all the people involved. Here, in this field one can see almost everybody in the uniform; students, nurses, ward boy, doctors, laboratory in charge and even patients. Each person has unique work to do and accordingly his or her uniform is designed. The major reason behind requirement of such uniformity is that in this field everyday different people meet medical people and sometimes it becomes very uncomfortable for each person to introduce him or herself. It is easier for patients and their relatives to find out nurses or doctors with their uniforms.

Various medical uniforms are apron, caps, hospital gowns, Doctor’s coat, disposable apparels and hand gloves, patient’s dress and surgical non woven garments.Various medical uniforms are apron, caps, hospital gowns, Doctor’s coat, disposable apparels and hand gloves, patient’s dress and surgical non woven garments.
The design and color of uniforms differ from hospital to hospital and designation to designation. Initially, the colors of nurse’s and doctor’s dress used to be cool and serene, without any or negligible prints. Currently many medical facilities are accepting uniforms or medical scrubs with printed designs and darker colors depending on the facility they provide.

At present use of disposable aprons, gloves, and caps are preferred. This preference has created huge demand of medical uniforms and other apparels. Some big hospitals and clinics get their own designer and then get the medical garments manufactured. For smaller clinics, it is preferred to buy the standard garments which are easily available in the market.

Gone are the days when only blue or white shade used to be selected for Medical Uniforms. It’s time for new design and colors in this field.John Petersons has been contributing to leading magazines for the past 10 years. He's also an accredited researcher on the subject for leading research institutes in the US.
