Natural Skin Toner
By: altruist

There is some debate as to whether facial toner should be an essential part of every woman's beauty routine. Some women prefer to use cold water, believing it is equally effective for tightening pores. However, many dermatologists believe toners to be extremely beneficial and that they should always be used after cleansing to optimise your skin care regime.

Astringents are commonly referred to as toners and are basically used to remove oils and tighten the skin. Natural ingredients, such as green tea, witch hazel, calendula, chamomile, yarrow, nettles, sage oil and avocado oil, are the basis for a great number of the most gentle and effective astringents.

Toner should be applied after using your cleanser. If the cleanser is a formulation which requires rinsing you should gently pat dry your face before using the toner. Apply the toner with cotton wool it sweeping motions then blot dry with some tissue if necessary. It is essential to use a good moisturizer after toning.

Another anti aging skin toner that you will find helpful will be Aloe Vera toner. For this you require a teaspoon of citric juice like that of lime or lemon or orange (orange will be best) and a mashed and peeled Aloe Vera leaf and then you have to blend together the mixture thoroughly and apply it on clean skin. Aloe Vera is known to hydrate, heal and cool the tired mature skin.

Skin toner recipes generally contain common herbs like rose water, essential oils, thyme, burdock, sage, nettle, ivy, honey, witch hazel, lemon, lime, geranium, Neem etc. You can prepare a rose skin toner out of 5 sprigs of fresh rosemary, half a cup of dried rose petals and three and a half cups of witch hazel. You have to blend together all the ingredients well. Then you have to strain the liquid and store it in an air tight jar and keep the jar in the refrigerator.

Toners are light gentler version of an astringent, but differ from each other. Many people think that a toner needs to be an active part of their skin care routine, but it's necessarily not. Cleanser and moisturizers are a definite part of the skin routine. Toners are highly recommended for people with more oily and sensitive skin.

There are some marvelous natural substances which have already proven themselves in the field of skin toning. One of them is Cynergy TK(TM). It stimulates the production of Collagen and Elastin in the body and keeps the skin smooth, firm and elastic. This prevents any slackness from developing in the skin and keeps it well in form.

Aromatherapy is Nature's Medicine in its purest and most essential form. Aromatic Oils are the very soul of a plant. Even a drop or two can produce significant results for your body, mind and spirit. Properly administered essential oils are a natural, safe and effective way to enhance your health and well-being and may produce satisfying results where other methods have failed.
