Know About Gastritis
By: mia green

Gastritis is a common name for all kinds of inflammation of the inner lining of the stomach, which is known as the mucosa. It is characterized by severe stomach ailments like cramps in the stomach, diarrhea and constipation and even blood with the stools.

Injury, illness, bacteria, or viruses can cause gastritis with the most prevalent cause worldwide being a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori. This bacterium invades the mucous lining of the duodenum and stomach and can cause peptic ulcers in addition to gastritis.

Symptoms point to gastritis:

A burning pain similar to indigestion in your upper abdomen. In some people, the pain gets better after eating; in others, it gets worse.

Nausea. A “sick-to-your-stomach” kind of feeling, which may or may not be accompanied by vomiting.

Feeling particularly “full” in your upper abdomen after a meal.

Causes of gastritis include grief, worry, stress, tension, anxiety, and using certain drugs. Gastritis disorders are usually caused by digestive disorders. Individuals will have poor bower movements as a result, but these can be treated with a balanced diet high in fiber.

You can treat the gastritis with the help of allopathic medicines or with alternative gastritis treatments that are natural and easy on the body. There are many who believe that gastritis can be treated by taking a controlled diet conducive to gastritis.

If the gastritis is particularly bad, there may be bleeding in the stomach too. This is marked by symptoms like sudden sweating, pallor or racing heart beat. Other symptoms could be feeling of faintness, short breath.

If the cause of your gastritis is indeed stomach acid rather than bacteria, there are a number of ways of treating it. For mild, occasional flares of gastritis, simple over-the-counter medications such as Maalox and Mylanta.

Taking aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen -- that’s Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and others -- on a regular basis can lead to gastritis. These drugs, while helpful for pain relief symptoms.

Simple home remedies can prevent and cure mild forms of gastritis natural. Chewing fresh ginger right before a meal, coconut water, a cup of potato juice, chewing roasted fennel at the end of each meal - all help to break down the food in the stomach and thus prevent gastritis.

Usually, people with acute gastritis caused by illness or injury have already been hospitalized for treatment of their underlying condition; therefore, symptoms of gastritis are managed in the course of their intensive care.

People suffering from gastritis should follow a diet that meets the recommendations for good digestion. They should also avoid heavy meals and focus on small meals frequently.

Recommended foods for individuals with gastritis include eating foods high in antioxidants like fruits and vegetables. Particular fruits and vegetables include bell peppers, tomatoes, cherries, blueberries, and squash.

Include: wheat bran, fresh fruits and vegetables, salads, leafy vegetables, coconut water, banana, carrot juice, molasses, almonds, raw apples and tomatoes, papaya etc.

Avoid: alcohol, coffee, whole milk, meat, cream, pork, soda, citrus juices, spicy food, broccoli beans etc.

Nutritious food plays an important role in improving health, but consuming them without proper care regarding its cleanliness may cause food poisoning, leading to infections.
