There isn't anything similar to butter that will improve the flavor of any food. It is difficult to imagine a bag of popcorn or a steaming baked potato with no butter to complete its taste. However be warned. As wonderful as its taste might be, butter has toxins coming from medicines, pesticide sprays and many other environmental hazards and contaminants cows may have absorbed and handed down to this dairy product.
In addition to that, butter comprises mainly of saturated fat, cholesterol and salt that can result in raising blood cholesterol levels, stimulating the accumulation of plaque in arterial blood vessels. Constant butter consumption is likely to result in heart problems, hypoglycemia as well as other similar ailments.
There is no need to imitate the taste of butter to add flavor to food. All you need to do is get creative and you will undoubtedly find a substitute for butter that is not just as delicious, but healthier.
Consider for instance, avocados. You can use mashed avocados on toast instead of butter, margarine or even mayonnaise. As an alternative for using cheese as the key ingredient for your dip, you may make a delicious guacamole. Just add blended onion, garlic, tomato and lime juice to mashed avocados and this will definitely complete your pitta bread, chips and raw carrot sticks. Sliced avocados also go well with tuna and other sandwiches.
Apart from the great taste, the avocado is also full of nourishing goodness. It contains vitamins A, B, C, iron and potassium. It easily exceeds the potassium content of bananas. Avocados have more than 25 other vital nutrients and that's why it's considered a complete food. As a result of antioxidants and vitamin E in avocados, this tropical fruit also promotes more radiant and healthier looking skin.
