8. Visit the bats in the Botanic Gardens - Shhh, tucked away in the heart of the Royal Botanic Gardens is Sydney's very own population of bats. They sleep in the Gardens during the day and then migrate to Centennial Parklands at night - an incredible sight!
9. Wine and dine in Surry Hills - Surry Hills is home to some amazing local restaurants and eateries as well as a bustling cafe culture. Drop in and see what's on offer and stay the night by booking a budget hotel room in the area.

12. Stroll through Darling Harbour - this is where you'll find the largest IMAX in the world as well as restaurants and bars with spectacular water views.
13. Visit a weekend market - locals love to take advantage of the many fresh food and craft markets all over Sydney. The perfect place to get fresh veggies or find some neat art and vintage pieces.
14. Take a cultural food journey - there are a number of ethnic food tours that take visitors through an eating experience in some of Sydney's ethnic suburbs. Discover fine Portuguese dining in Petersham or learn about amazing Vietnamese flavours in Cabramatta - this is a foodie's dream come true!
15. Take a day trip - the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley, the spectacular Jenolan Caves, a day trip is the perfect way to check out some of the nearby attractions.
16. Get to know some friendly critters - Much of Australia's wildlife can be found nowhere else in the world. Head to Taronga to meet some of our native furry friends or take a trip out to Featherdale Wildlife Park to get up close and personal with the kangaroos and koalas.

19. Marvel at great Australian art - there are a number of free art galleries in CBD including the Museum of Contemporary Art or the Art Gallery NSW. Definitely worth a day trip.
20. Hit the clubs at the Cross - Kings Cross is still considered the happening spot of Sydney's nightlife, full of eclectic and colourful characters.
21. Enjoy drinks with a view - the Shangri-la hotel has some of the most impressive views over the harbour, or hit the rotating Orbit Bar at Australia Square for a 360 degree view of the city.
22. Cycle around Centennial Park - bring a picnic or visit the newly refurbished cafe and kiosk for a great afternoon in the park.
23. Surf, Dive and Snorkel - suit up for your favourite water sport - or just have a relaxing coast along the harbour.
24. Rediscover History at the Rocks - with some of the oldest buildings from the original convict settlements.
