The tank game is a visually attractive battle game in which the gamer uses his tank aided with periscopes in order to attack the opponent. The first tank game was introduced by Atari with visual effects been done on the basis of vector which involved a lot of investment. Despite all this the game was a huge success and lead to a revolution by introducing a new dimension in the gaming sector.
There is evidence that these games were used at that time in order to train soldiers too. Rumour has it that there was a special edition of battle games for the soldiers which were not widely used amongst commoners. Initially only tanks of enemies were to be attacked but due to the increase in the popularity of tank games more objects like bunkers, UFO’s etc were added to increase the excitement and fun in the games.
These games originally could be played by gaming devices of Atari but slowly they found their way into the PC games and now due to their huge popularity have found their way in almost all gaming devices. It is seen that years after their appearance in the market the battle games are still a favourite amongst the game lovers. Even the Xbox removed their version of the game in the year 2005.
Tank games mostly involve tanks as the player’s forte and he has to destroy the opponent with the help of weapons which keep on appearing in a wide range. The player can upgrade their tanks as the game progresses and more levels are passed. The range of weapons becomes more and more sophisticated and complex as the game advances. There is a wide range of terrains available where the battle can take place in between the tanks. Some terrains include the desert, forest and also sometimes on high mountain ranges. Each terrain has its difficulty levels and different range of enemy artillery. These games can be played in multi-player mode and have a variety of colour code for each player tanks.
Sometimes these battle or war games come with too much of violence. The children learn a lot of techniques in order to combat the enemy and their mindset works on destroying the enemy in any conditions. This may develop a violent streak in the player and hence care should be taken to select the games for children after seeing the age group which is well marked in all games. The level of violence and aggression increases as the age level advances.
All said and done these battle games do give a perspective of war and its ups and downs. In a way these games teach some sort of self-defence and also give the players an idea about the intricacies of the war. Every game lover likes to have the latest collection of games available in the market.
The tank games have been an integral part of the gaming systems. There would be hardly any PC or video or any other game player who has not played the tank games. The tank games were loved in the past and will find popularity always.
