Pool Games: An Enjoyable Game At All Times
By: Walter Hart

Ever wondered if you can play pool without having to look for pool tables, or friends to play it with? I am sure you have. If you haven’t, then it is about time that you start wondering about it.
Since game developers started developing games, many sports, including pool, has been translated into video games. In actuality, many pool players learned to play pool because of video games. This is actual fact, not just an opinion. There are also pool players who started playing pool video games since they got to know of its existence. Besides the fact that you do not have to look for pool tables to play it, it will also be less tiring, as it only requires you to play using one hand. It does not even require you to play using two hands, or to walk around the table. Again, you only have to sit on a chair and use one hand to play.
There is also another type of pool game. Also called pocket billiards, it has become synonymous to billiards because of the same game play. The only difference between billiards and pool is that pool is played with money, simply saying that it is a form of gambling. Ever since it has been associated with gambling, billiards slowly distanced itself from pool since the beginning of the late 19th century.
Another difference is the equipment that pool uses. It has smaller balls compared to the ones that are used in billiards. The balls are 2.25 inches in diameter, compared to the 2.375 inches of carom billiard balls. Though it is not a very big difference, there is still a difference on the size of the two balls. Pool tables also have table pockets around the table where the ball would fall in. The pool tables are 3.5 feet high, 7 feet long, and 4.5 feet wide. The cues are long, length at 58.5 inches. Carom billiards cues are shorter and have larger tips, compared to pool cues.
Historically speaking, the term used for the three subdivisions is billiards. It is still a generic term used for all the games that uses cues, balls and tables. The first subdivision is the carom billiards. It has no pockets and is the most common among the three subdivisions of billiards. The second subdivision, the pool, or pocket billiards has six pockets on the table wherein the ball should be placed to win the game. The last subdivision, snooker, is still a pool game, though it is separated from it because of its historical divergence. It also has a separate terminology that characterizes its play.

pool games are as enjoyable as the other billiards games. As it is an easy game, you only have to learn its rules for you to know how to play the game, and you are well on your way to win a lot of rounds of pool games. Since its only aim is to shoot the ball in the pocket, it would be kind of easy for you to do it.
