Role Playing Games, or simply RPG, are one of the most popular video games in the world right now. Originating in the traditional role playing game, it has been made into a video game in which players may control their characters and fulfill the task at each level, and even play with other players worldwide.
Generally, a player explores and solves puzzles that will let them engage in fights that involve tactic and will. If they are defeated in the fight, of course, they are defeated in the game play too. In a role playing game, it is usually the task of the player to save the world from the evils. Twists and turns may happen, and surprises may come in between. Mostly based on fantasy, RPG are usually based on the present day life, and then made into a fantasy. Most of the settings are also usually based on the present day like, or if not, something close to it.
Unlike in other types of games, the advancement of a game is based on the decisions that the player makes himself. These decisions would help in the progress of the story. An example of it is when the player decides on joining a guild. That in itself becomes a part of the story, and it cannot be reversed anymore. The plot is divided in certain locations, as to reveal new chapters in the story.
If you want to finish the game, you will have to rank higher; raise your level. It is a must for you to do so, because if you stay on the same level, you will never be able to defeat the more powerful enemies that you may have. How do you level up? It is based on the experience points (ExP). The experience points are taken from the enemies that the player defeats.
RPG games provide much interaction between players around the world. Without knowing who they are playing with, the players may play with them, and still keep playing with them, even when they know each other. RPG games are a useful socialization tool that most players would love to have, as it not only provides friendship between people in the world, but also provide entertainment for them.
