3 Great Reasons To Cook Using Avocado Oil
By: Elroy Tyner

Avocado is a delicious fruit and a valuable ingredient in cooking. Now it can also be used as a cooking oil. Avocado oil can easily substitute your standard oil in terms of taste, smoke point and health benefits.

The oil we use in cooking food is a vital substance of any dish. Unlike other oils which taste bland and heavy, avocado oil is very light, rich and buttery. It does not overpower the food you're cooking but instead, enhances it.

Avocado oil can be used in lots of ways, in your salad dressings, marinades and sauces, similar to what you do with other cooking oils. Its versatile and buttery flavor produces more vigor to fish and shrimp dishes, potatoes, salads, toast, barbecue, pizza and much more. You can easily improve the flavor of any dish by applying this delightful but extremely healthy ingredient.

All oils have a smoking point or heat tolerance. Oil which has achieved its smoking point emits smoke and once it does, it'll smell and taste bad, burning the food and badly affecting its taste. At 520°F, avocado oil possesses the highest smoke point of all natural oils. Olive oil has a smoke point of 374°F and for butter, just 350°F. This simply means that avocado oil is perfect for high temperature cooking. You may even use it for deep frying since it can get extremely hot without smoking.

At present, deep fried foods have a unpleasant health reputation. However, with the existence of avocado oil, that can very well change. The health advantages of utilizing avocado oil are many. On top of the list is it being good for your heart. Research has shown that this type of oil can cut bad cholesterol and boost the good ones. The monounsaturated fat and omega-3 it contains support in battling and minimizing blocked arteries, quite a turnaround from the effects of butter or your common cooking oil.

Avocado oil likewise carries a lot of Vitamins A, E and D and contains antioxidant compounds which maintain a more healthy and more youthful looking skin. Also, it is abundant in Vitamin B which is known as happy vitamins because of the fact that it will help lift one’s mood and provides the body energy.

In general, avocado oil has about twenty vitamins, minerals and nutrients which keep the body well and healthy.
