Processed foods are becoming ever more popular as more and more people find them more convenient and less time consuming than regular cooking. Processed foods are artificially altered through freezing; canning, chilling, dehydration and other way to provide them a longer shelf life. These products can be stored, and sold for longer periods of time. More common uses of processed foods are in ready made meals which are sold to busy people to cook on the microwave. Soup is a generally warm food that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water, or another liquid. A snack is a portion of food sometimes smaller than that of a regular meal that is generally eaten between meals. Snacks come in a variety of forms including packaged and processed foods and items made from fresh ingredients at home. They are prepared from ingredients commonly available in the home.

Sandwiches made from cold cuts, nuts, fruit, and the like were used as snacks. Beverages, such as coffee, are not generally considered snacks though they may be eaten between meals like a snack, or along with snack foods. Soups are additionally characterized by boiling solid ingredients in liquids in a pot until the flavors are extracted, forming a broth. They are classified into two main groups: clear soups and thick soups. It is usually served as the first course of a dinner, but it is often included in a light meal, such as lunch. Other ingredients commonly used to thicken soups and broths include rice, lentils, flour, and grains. Various soups like Sweet n Sour soup are thickened with starch and are made from shellfish, vegetables, butter and cream.

Pav Bhaji mix is a kind of fast food dish popular in Maharashtra and other metropolitan cities in India. It is most famous dish of Mumbai and Gujarat region. Pav bhaji means bread and mix vegetable curry. Pav bhaji consists of thick potato- based curry (bhaji) garnished with coriander, chopped onion, and a dash of lemon with baked pav. This is the main food of commuters in metropolitan city which is easily available on city streets. Malai is a term used in South Asia for clotted cream or Devonshire cream. It is made by heating non-homogenized whole milk about one hour and then allowing cooling. A thick yellowish layer of fat and coagulated proteins forms on the surface, which is skimmed off to prepare the malai. Malai Kofta mix is a dish prepared by the dumplings of malai consisting of onions, tomato and spicy ingredients. Buffalo milk is thought to produce better malai because of its high fat content.
