Some people find shopping an enjoyable experience. They enjoy walking up and down the aisles, browsing, comparing and snapping up deals. Be it clothing, furniture or food, shopping is one of England's favourite weekend pastimes.
But for others, the idea of spending Saturday morning in a supermarket browsing different types of cheese products is, well, unappealing to say the least, it can be their idea of hell. They'd much rather get it out of the way in their own time. For this reason, the number of companies offering - and customers enjoying - online food shopping has risen sharply over the last five years.
There are, or course, advantages to each. Perhaps it's more difficult to ask for advice from an experienced butcher online, although you could call the store for information. Maybe it’s slightly more difficult to browse items if you don’t really know what you want. Plus, of course, you can’t claim that someone else put the three tubs of chocolate ice cream in your trolley if you’ve clicked and typed the amount in.
But then, on the other hand, you can do your online food shopping from the comfort of your sofa, you don’t have to feel ashamed when you buy a soppy DVD, tissues and a family sized bar of chocolate, and you can monitor how much you spend to the penny. And, of course, you don’t have to carry the bags home.
Make the most of your free time on a Saturday, relax and spend some extra time with your family. Hell image if you could just chill out in front of the TV.
