Checking your email - correo electrónico - is something many travelers want to do so you'll need to locate a locutorio, a place offering Internet access. Simply say:

¿Hay un locutorio por aquí? - Is there an Internet parlor around here?

To ask how to access the Internet, use this simple, useful Spanish phrase so you get the user id and the password:

¿Cómo accedo el Internet? - How do I access the Internet?

Now that you've found an Internet booth and know how to login, you can get online - acceder el Internet. To do so, you'll need to load the browser - Cargar el navegador - and then you can surf the Internet - Navegar por el internet. Saying 'I want to surf the Internet' is so simple:

Quiero navegar por el Internet - I want to surf the Internet

You can now check your email and also, you might want to post updates on your social media profiles such as Facebook and Twitter. The Spanish term for social media is 'las redes sociales' - which translates directly as 'social networks'. 'Las redes' is the plural of 'la red' - the network.
