5 Acne Skin Care Tips For You
By: Mikaela Ceniza

There are a number of things you can do everyday to maintain a healthy, smooth skin. I will share to you 5 tips for taking control of your acne problem:

1.) Exercise. Perspiration can do wonders to your body as it can free toxins and dirt that are blocked in your skin as well. Keeping in shape will not only help you from fighting acne but it will also help you subside your depression as well. However, stay away from tight lycra and nylon workout getups as it may cause bacteria frenzy and may lead to an acne trouble. And when you are finished with your workout, get out of clothing wet from sweating or water sports. Shower and change into dry, clean clothing. And keep your sports gear and equipment clean, too. Dirty headgear, for example, can irritate forehead areas prone to acne problems.

2.) Pick Out the right cosmetics for your type of skin. Selecting “noncomedogenic” or oil free products can help you avoid pore- clogging which may result to acne or skin soreness.

Take Note that the more shine, the more comedogenic content there is that might lead to skin soreness. So use a lip gloss that promotes a matte finish rather than of a high gloss to prevent pore- clogging. Be also careful with heavy concentrated eye cream as it can cause your pores to clog as well.

3.) Take the right stuff. Reports prove that diet does not play a role in either the cause or the treatment of acne. Yet, what is good for your body would also be good for your skin. So remember to control your diet and consume healthy vitamins, minerals and other supplements. This will help to stop and help conquer acne breakout.

4.) Right hygiene. This would help you fight the battle against acne. Products with moderate exfoliation ingredients are OK to use. Skip alcohol products when possible as these can take off the top layer of your skin and can cause your glands to produce more oil, blocking pores in the process.

If you do spot acne-troubled areas, do NOT mess with them. Take note that these are already weeks in the making, and squeezing or picking blemishes can force the infected area to return back inside, further troubling the region and possibly leave a scar. If needed, seek help from a skin doctor for substitute treatments.

5.) Lastly, shaving. This is an excellent way to exfoliate your skin. . A word of caution: for areas with infection or high inflammatory activity (redness, sensitive, open acne, sores, etc.), do not shave. Or at the very least, use a shaving cream for sensitive skin!
