How To Treat Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
By: ningyuan

Polycystic Kidney Disease is also named Potter Syndrome or Perlman Syndrome. It is not a rare kidney disease. Polycystic Kidney Disease has two types. One is ARPKD (Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease) and the other is ADPKD (Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease). ARPKD often occur among infants, which is rare in clinical cases; ADPKD usually occur among young and middle-aged people and it can also occur among people at any age.

In most cases, PKD is ADPKD. It will be passed down to their children at 50% if parent has PKD. Usually, clinical symptoms will show up when patients are young and middle-aged people. The main symptoms include pain in flanks, hematuria, edema and hypertension etc, which can be accompanied by polycystic liver, polycystic spleen and calculus. Cysts can become bigger and bigger as patients grow up because the epithelial cells of cysts secret cyst fluid , the cyst fluid build up and can not be discharged out. If the cyst is so big that it bursts, it can lead to intra-abdominal infection. If the cyst has pressed nephrons, it can lead to local obstruction in kidney. As a result, it may damage the renal function or even worse, it can develop into renal failure and even uremia. In that situation, it is difficult for us to treat it effectively. Therefore, patients should pay more attention to it.

To treat cyst about or more than5cm in diameter, Puncture sclerotherapy operation and Laparoscopic Renal Cyst Decortication are adopted in western medicine. Unfortunately, it will make room for the growth of small cysts after the big cysts are removed. When the pressure around these small ones is lower, they can grow more quickly. Eventually, you have to take another operation. Therefore, operation is just the expedient and the effect is limited.

The proper way to treat it is to adopt Micro-Chinese Medicine. The active substances in Micro-Chinese Medicine can improve the micro-circulation in renal capillaries and soften the cyst wall, which increases the permeability of the cyst wall. As a result, the cyst fluid can be taken out. The most important thing is Micro-Chinese Medicine can inhibit the secretion of cyst cells so that the cyst would not grow up.
