It is not fully clear how the test came about, however it has been in existance for some time now. I recommend you use it as an indicator only as it is only meant to provide an indication, and should not be relied upon as your only form of diagnosis.
The Candida Spit Test is carried out as per these instructions;
Fill up a clear glass with water and place it by your bed or somewhere that you will notice it as soon as you get up the next morning.
When you wake in the morning, work up a bit of saliva and spit into the glass of water.
This must be done 1st thing. If you brush your teeth, eat or drink, the results will be no good.
Don't even kiss your partner! You will just have to keep them on hold for a moment...
Immediately make note of how the saliva looks.
Once you have sorted out that good morning kiss you should re assess the appearance of your spit.
Keep checking the Candida Spit Test about every fifteen minutes or so.
Ideally your Candida spit test should be observed for 1 hour. It should not be done for less than 30 minutes.
Healthy saliva will be clear, it will float on top and it will slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness and without sinking.
A bit of foam or a few bubbles are quite normal.
These are the things you will see that may indicate a yeast infection.
The spit will develop strings or tenticles.
The spit may become cloudy and sink.
You may observe a cloudy type of speck hanging in the water.
The more strings and cloudiness there are, and the faster it develops, the greater the Candida albicans overgrowth.
On the assumption that your Candida Spit test indicated that you are likely to have some sort of yeast or Candida overgrowth. The best place to begin is to review the foods that you consume. They may not neccessarily have sparked this problem, but they are more than likely a very real contributor. This needs to be resolved to avoid ongoing issues.
Most of your fruits and foods with lots of sugar, Bread and your milk based products are all typically involved in people with yeast or Candida Albicans problems.
Other contributing factors are the use of oral contraceptives, steroids, antacids, or frequent or long-term use of antibiotics pregnancy smoking food allergies and intolerances and diabetes.
Seeking the advice of your General Practitioner is obviously something you need to do. Please treat your Candida Spit Test as just an easy test to do prior to seeing the doctor. They can run their tests to diagnose what is going on in much more depth than the Candida spit test.
