Wave Soldering Flux
By: tim rogers

Wave soldering process is the soldering process used for the soldering purpose for the industrial manufacturing of the printed circuit boards. Wave soldering process is just an improved version of the normal soldering process, with just a mere difference that in the < a href="http://swpc.co.il/Page11.html">wave soldering process a large number of electronic or electrical components can be soldered at a time. This process gives a lot of benefits for the printed circuit board manufacturer. Who is implementing the wave soldering process for him/her in any sort of industrial business? With the growth in the technology field various new technologies have been introduced. Wave soldering is one of the finest examples of the growth in the technologies. It has improved the traditional way of soldering and now the traditional soldering process can be done on a large scale and in much less time.

Though, the soldering process has been improved but still the basic components has there own significant role to play even in the industrial soldering process. Not many of the basic components have been changed in the soldering process, like the flux has still a vital role in the completion of the wave soldering process. Wave soldering process, and the other process like reflow profiling and the < a href=“http://swpc.co.il/Page121.html”>thermal profiling process all depends on the performance of the flux a lot. Use of flux in the soldering process determines the quality and the performance of the final output product.

The process of fluxing in the wave soldering process is done in various manners one of tem is the wave fluxing. Wave fluxing is used while the leads stick away underneath the base of the board and the flux hold a large percent of solid (generally rosin), or while the flux cannot be applied with the fluxer or spray unit. The wave fluxer is more costly than the foam fluxer, but is less costly than the spray unit. An air knife is accessible subsequent to the outlet of the wave fluxer so as to remove the surplus flux and dripping from the base of the assembly.

Another type of fluxing process for the wave soldering process is the spray fluxer. Spray fluxing is extensively used in the functioning of small solid fluxes for the reason that the capacity to improve controls the flux set down for no-clean purpose. Low solid fluxes having solid substance in the range of 1-3% frequently contain no rosin. These types of fluxes are mush costlier than the foam flux.

The main purpose of flux in the wave soldering process is to support the flow of solder and to get rid of light oxidation present in the solder metal. So, it is quite understandable that the role of flux in any sort of the soldering process is quite important and that too has not changed a great with the change in the time.
