Phone Dropped In Water
By: Nez Rodgers

What to do if you have dropped your cellphone in water.
The following article is a guide to bringing your cell phone back to life after it has been dropped in fresh or salt water i by no means take responsibility if ones phone stop working after following this guide.

Many people after dropping their phone in water immediately try to turn it on.

If you have dropped you cellphone is fresh water the first thing to do is of course remove it from the water and wipe and excess water from the battery and casing. Make sure the phone is switch off and remove the battery. Hang the phone from some with some string so that and water still inside can drain out. Place the phone in a warm dry area, i don't recommend direct sunlight as i have seen some cellphone casing melt and crack, after the first 24 hours replace the battery and see if it will turn on, if it doesn't turn on check that the conductors on the battery and cellphone are dry and free from dust, If it still doesn't turn on leave it to dry for another 24 hours. If after 72 hours of drying and your phone still doesn't work I'd say you phone is dead ( go buy a new one ).

If you have dropped your cellphone is salt water, remove the battery and give it a quick spray with fresh water to remove any surface salt. Then hang the phone from a string so the water can drain after a couple of hours give the phone another quick spray with fresh water. If you leave you phone to dry with salt water still inside it may work for the first couple of weeks then it will start to corrode.
