The Benefits Of Having A Single Contractor To Take On All Your Maintenance And Cleaning Needs
By: Lisa Armstrong

Making sure your business has a professional image is one of the most important aspects of the day to day running of any company.

Unfortunately this isn’t always easy as it’s not just a question of needing to keep your premises clean and tidy. You also need to think about the question of regular maintenance to make sure that even the smallest jobs – such as changing faulty light bulbs for example – are taken care of without you needing to worry about them.

With regular cleaning, maintenance issues and perhaps even garden maintenance to worry about, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you need to employ three different companies with individual strengths in each area.

That might sound like the ideal solution but in reality it can lead to a whole new set of problems. For example, you will end up having to maintain contact with three separate companies - giving you three times as much work to keep up with which company is doing what. In reality it’s a good idea that can result in three times as much work for you.

That’s why having a single contractor to do all the work for you is much easier in the long run. Firstly it means you can build a relationship with just the one company, giving you a single point of contact for every job that needs doing. Furthermore any queries you have will usually go through one single number that will enable you to speak to the person in charge of the whole contract.

It also gives you the opportunity to talk to the contractor about the precise needs of your business. In reality while many businesses have a list of services that they offer, many all round contractors of this nature will be more than happy to sit down with you and get to know you and your business, so you can come to an agreement together as to how they can help your business look its best right round the clock.

You may also find that an individual contractor is more cost effective for you than employing three different companies to do three different jobs. It is after all in the best interests of the company winning the contract to offer the best service at the best possible price, as it can mean long term work and perhaps even more positive referrals for them.

The other main benefit can be seen in the long term. The needs of your business may well change over time and if you are relying on a single company to take care of all your maintenance and cleaning needs you will find it much easier to add a particular service to your overall requirements, or perhaps take one away if it is no longer needed. If you were using different companies you might be faced with the position of having to recruit a whole different company to do a job your current ones wouldn’t be able to handle.
