I recently bought a replica IWC 3717-9 Antoine de St Exupery pilot chrono online from a trusted replica watch dealer. Here comes my review about it. It is a very beautiful variant of the traditional IWC 3717 pilot watch.
The genuine piece is a highly popular limited edition paying tribute to the French author and pioneer of commercial aviation prior to WWII.he watch is a real fine beauty - it looks better in reality than the pictures on the dealer’s t. I find it is good to have a watch with black dial purely for casual occasions.my rep replicates the stainless steel version of the gen with it's brown seconds subdial. The gen also comes in rose gold and white gold versions that have asilver/brown seconds subdial.
The rep came with IWC engraved buckle but I replaced that with an IWC deployant clasp from another dealer Removing the engraved back reveals an antimagnetic cover in steel, not sure if the gen uses the same material.The movement is very nicely decorated with blued screws and machined finish. There one movement retaining screw missing.
I carefully compared my rep with the gen.And I did not find any huge differences. The chrono subdials look like they are a bit less shiny and more brown on the gen.Straps look much the same.The back of the rep is engraved more deeply than the gen - both the head of Exupery and the lettering. It misses the acute accent from the e in Exupery and has no limited edition numbering. I think it still looks nice but it's quite significantly different from the gen.
The rep comes with light AR compounded by a reflective dial. And I replaces it with a AR coated 3717 crystalThe difference made by the replacement crystal is subtle but I find it gives a superior finish to what was already a really beautiful watch.
Overall, I pleased with this purchase. And I often wear this watch to meet friends and invite lots of envy.
