In 1991, an idea of Equipment came to the public by adidas, along with the release of related basketball equipment. Several years after that, the “Feet You Wear” sneakers came to the market officially, marking a new era of basketball and other sports. Meanwhile at the same year of release of “Feet You Wear”, the golden generation of 1996 was popular. Among the outstanding players, adidas chose Kobe Bryant as the icon of the adidas basketball shoes.
In 1997, Kobe gained both the highest score of All-Star Rookie and the championship of the Slam Dunk. With so great performance, adidas focus well on him. Later, adidas EQT KB 8 I(the first pair of NBA Shoes for Kobe) was released, which is the original model of Crazy 8. In 2006, adidas EQT KB 8 I changed the name to adidas Crazy 8. The version contains lots of colorways, including Camo, Multi-colors, Halloween and Training version. Though Kobe will no longer wear the shoe on the NBA court, the popularity of Crazy 8/ KB 8 does not decrease.
And this year, the Retro Crazy 8 again hit the public. This is a slight different Retro model from the former. Both the original colorway and new ones as UCLA, Notre Dame, UL, etc are available on the shoes box. And all these shoes surely attacked the March Madness.
From the function and design, adidas Crazy 8 never become backward by the time. However during the time, with the increasing requirement by the League, adidas Crazy 8 is more suitable for College or High School games. And this opens a new market for the shoes.
Some special design of the shoes is remarkable. The exaggerated three strip waves on the shoe panel and midsole are pretty attractive. On the shoe heel, the traditional “X” support technology is applied. What’s more, the classic suede leather is used in the shoe upper, making the weight different from other sneakers. And the most mentionable point is the PureMotion technology.
It is still large imaginary space for how heavy people would take care of this classic sneaker.
