Think it's an impossible job to make a 10-year-old car look young again - think again.
As the financial crisis still lingering around it may be too expensive to buy a new car, but rather than do away with your old car & make it look like new. Here are some things that can be done:
- Sort your dented panels, there's sure to be some good reputable body work places local to where you live you.
Good spray painters will have been doing the job for about 5 years or more, a number of years on the bodywork and a number of years working in a garage.
Spray paint the car on time, once the bumps have been repaired.
This is a great way to keep the cost down as you don't need to have your car scrapped, and you can coat one with primer and one coat of paint.
Use metallic paints. Sometimes with silver or gray your car can be made to look clean and fresh again.
- Check the cars shock absorbers, tyres and wheel nuts. If you've a car that's more than 5 years old, then it is time to check the suspension, tyres, wheel bolts & connectors.
Now your car should feel like new without strange noises, can only be a good thing.
Parts should not cost that much, but do shop about for the best price to get the lowest cost you can.
If you can find spare parts other than original parts in the suspension & tyre bolts & bushings.
Less expensive parts can be purchased from non-original suppliers.
Second hand parts from the scrap yard is another great way to find replacement parts.
The Internet is a fantastic resource to put you in contact with car clubs, forums and lists, just post a request for a part, or find someone selling the part your looking for.
If nothing else, someone might tell you the best location to locate the parts you need.
- If you can't find new seats - reupholster them, personally I like to re upholster them as it's not that expensive, and the finish and new smell is worth it.
Otherwise just plain seat covers can do the job. You can purchase two seat cover sets and use one set one month, and another set the next month.
Seat covers protect your current upholstery, all be it not a nice as re-upholstering.
