Indie films are also a great source of entertainment for most people. It provides an artistic and powerful storytelling that can get the interest of many viewers. Indie films during the Christmas holidays are also popular for some. It still shows the importance and magic of Christmas season and we can also appreciate it together with our family and friends.
Sarah’s Choice, which is a Christian pro-life centered story, is an indie film that tells the life of Sarah and the choices she faced. She learned of her co-worker’s pregnancy that is an advantage to her since she can get a promotion from it. Unfortunately, she too learned of her own pregnancy and she received a card in the hospital telling her that she will receive visions from heaven that will help her decide on her future. Sarah considers abortion to be the solution but just like in the movie Scrooged she was visited by visions that gave her an insight about the situation she’s in.
The Little Princess is a story, which took place close to the holiday season. It tells the story of a girl and his father separated by war and the hardships the girl endured after her father was declared missing. The story starts when the girl moves out from India to an all girl’s school in New York so that her father can fight in the British war. She started out as a popular student and she is well taken cared off because of the money his father left at the school. When news arrived that the father was missing, the girl was reduced to a servant inside suffering from the bullying of her former classmate and the strict nature of the headmistress. Her father actually didn’t die from the war but has amnesia and blindness because of gas attacks. He was taken in by the father of one of the dead soldiers helping in the war and they coincidentally lived beside the school. After he regains his memories of her daughter, they both left New York to return to India together with another servant whom his daughter befriended. The story ends showing the audience the misfortune that befalls the headmistress because of her cruel ways.
The two indie films are a great hit with many people as they also show the Christmas spirit and message just like in other Christmas movies. It also shows the passion of filmmakers in delivering quality and meaningful shows that people can learn lessons from.
